Linda Tate is ordered to stay away from the victim.

WINTERSVILLE, Ohio -- The mother accused of sending out naked pictures of her daughter's cheerleading rival pleaded guilty just before she was set to go to trial.

Linda Tate, of Wintersville, pleaded guilty to menacing by stalking, Nov. 18.

She was sentenced to four years probation.

Prosecutors said she obtained a nude picture of the Indian Creek High School student and then sent it through text messages to classmates and school officials.

Prosecutor Jane Hanlin said the resolution was the best so that the victim would not have to relive what happened publicly.

This is an example of justice not being served. I'm sure this young girl would have rather been slapped, and then the mother could have been charged with assault. Some kids suffer from not having parents that spend time with them, but this daughter will suffer because of the close relationship to her mother....

@Cal - are you serious?? The woman was 48. Clearly if there wasn't a photo to send out, she would have thought of another totally illegal thing to do to hurt her daughter's 'rival.' I can't believe you are defending that mother's actions. as if you, as a teenager, never did something regrettable...

any wonder why our kids are so messed up? I wonder what brilliant thought process a person like that goes through when she considers who to vote for president, no matter which party she may belong to... if she even votes!

I think the mother should have to go through the same humilation she put that girl through. So I think she got of pretty easy . But the girl still has to live with it the rest of her life and face all these people everyday
