A new report by the West Virginia Center on Budget & Policy shows the state's minority population still lags economically.
Gains in education and civil rights are not showing up in the wallet of West Virginia minorities, according to a new study that was released Tuesday.
The study done by the West Virginia Center on Budget and Policy found African-Americans in West Virgina earn less money, are less likely to have health insurance or own a home.
Ted Boettner, director of the Center, said that while education is fairly equal between African-Americans and whites they are less likely to land higher paying jobs.
The report sites several was to reduce racial and economic disparities.
