No one was injured in the accident.

WHITE HALL -- Emergency crews had to pull a car out of the Tygart River, in Marion County, Thursday.

Shortly before 10 a.m., Erica King was driving north on Route 250, in White Hall, when she lost control of her Toyota Camry, she said.

The car went over an embankment and into the river, in the area just before Woods Boathouse, according to King.

King was able to get out of the car and save some Christmas gifts and personal items, in the process.

An employee at Woods Boathouse quickly got into a boat and was able to help King get to safety.

She was not injured.

The Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department, the Marion County Dive Team, the Marion County Rescue Squad and the Marion County Sheriff's Department were all called to the scene.

The divers attached cables to car so a tow truck could pull it out of the water.

First off, glad she is OK. Now the rest:

If she hit a "patch of ice," then it was the same "patch of ice" 100+ cars drove over in the same short time frame with NO problems....

As for the "responsible parties," the DRIVER is responsible for their own vehicle. If it is unsafe to drive, don't. Be responsible and make the correct choice.

This wreck put many people in danger.

Slow down, pay attention. Arrive safely.

Merry Christmas to all! Very glad to hear the news that this young lady is doing well. My husband and I drove past Wood's as they were pulling the car out and yes so glad to know she is all right, however my husband and I were wondering ourselves how in the world someone could go drive in the river from that spot and no there was not ice patches. We actually thought that it might have been a suicide attempt. No one is putting this young women down and I am sure that she herself had a lot to do with the fact that she survived the wreck. Thank God she didn't panick and had enough intelligents to get herself out. So regardless of whether she was negligent or not she got herself out of that car! Merry Christmas to all.

We thank our Lord above that Erica was safe in this accident.

Stop the hate and negativity! In my opinion, this was a display of a Christmas Miracle. It shows that if one believes in the almighty God, he'll be there to shield one from harm and danger.

Stop assuming Ms. King was texting. What were others doing who have an accident in this same area.

One need to ask the state, county or city to erect guar/safety barriers in that location. If one has any history with the Fairmont area, one knows that several accidents and lives has been lost near Woods Boat dock on Route 250.

We thank God for Erica being unharmed in the serious accident. I'm sadden that others have lost their lives to a similar accident and not saftey measures were implemented by any official with the DOH.

It's time that something is done by the responsible parties!!!

Maybe she hit a patch of Ice!!!! I just LOVE it when people assume that the person was Texting when a wreck takes place. It isn't nice to assume especially when you know nothing about what happened.
