CHARLESTON -- Some students at the University of Charleston celebrated an educational milestone Sunday.

The school hosted its winter commencement.

Graduates posed for pictures and shared hugs with their loved ones after receiving their much anticipated diplomas.

"I'm glad most of my family lives close by and they were here to support me like they always are," said graduate Homer Cobb of Dunbar.

There was even a cake on hand to mark the occasion.

The ceremony took place in the Cox Rotunda.
