ELEANOR -- A Putnam County school gets involved with the Toys For Tots program. Collecting toys became a school project at George Washington Middle School in Eleanor.
For several weeks students have been collecting money to buy toys in addition to collecting toy donations, and in the end more than five hundred toys were collected for the program.
"The kids in the community, if they don't have anything for Christmas, it's just not fair. The kids should have something for Christmas," says Rachel Martin, a sixth grader at George Washington Middle School.
Principal Jo Anne Stewart says this is the first time the school has been involved with the project and hopes it won't be the last.
