BUCKHANNON -- The Web site
www.upshurcounty.org is now up and running and it's loaded with information, said coordinators.
"Information about the different offices in the county, the Board of Education, the city of Buckhannon. The different activities that are available to residents here in the county," said Terri Jo Bennett, one of the Web site's coordinators.
The Web site allows people to look up information about the county at any time, said Bennett. She said that saves county employees like herself and Jackie Dinklocker a lot of time.
"We get a lot of calls here with people asking for information and it's very good sometimes if I can say, 'Well, you can go to our Web site,'" said Jackie Dinklocker, one of the Web site's coordinators.
Employees in the tax department said the site helps save them time because people can look up their taxes online.
"It keeps us free to answer general public questions which we normally would not have time to answer because we'd be doing research and looking up data," said Shelia Adams, chief tax deputy for Upshur County.
Bennett said the Web site could help tourism too, because people from out of state are learning more about the area.
"Obviously the majority of visitors are probably from West Virginia and Upshur County, but we have had visits from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, Texas and Wisconsin, so we're getting hits from all across the United States and other countries," said Bennett.
No matter where you're from, Bennett said you're sure to enjoy the informative and easy to use site.
