BRADLEY --  Raleigh County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Michael Burnett, 47, and Christopher Burnett, 21, both of Bradley Dec. 2 for an attack on an elderly family member early that morning.

The pair reportedly cut the throat of an elderly family member, bound her, put her in the back of a truck, and covered her with plastic.

The incident happened at home on Maple Lane in Bradley at around 4:30 a.m.

Deputies said the men told the victim they were taking her to Fayette County to throw her off of the New River Gorge Bridge.

She was able to get loose and run into the Go Mart on state Route 19 in Bradley to report the crime.

Deputies spotted the vehicle and were able to catch up with the pair at around 8:30 a.m. on Appalachian Heights Drive.

Both men are charged with attempted murder, malicious wounding, conspiracy to commit a felony and kidnapping.

Deputies did not release a motive.

The victim is in stable condition at Raleigh General Hospital.
