VOLGA -- Troopers in Barbour County are investigating a fatal accident that happened Tuesday at about 4:30 a.m.

A Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck was being driven on Murphy Station Road in Volga when it ran off the roadway and hit a fence, according to a news release from the Philippi detachment.

A fence post went into the drivers side and killed a 34-year-old Upshur County woman who was driving, the news release said.

Two others inside the vehicle went to Broaddus Hospital by ambulance with what the release calls minor injuries.

Cpl M. P. Denison and Cpl. C. B. Shrader are the investigating officers.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I am sorry for your loss. How is a fatal car accident considered news ??? I see one of these stories almost everyday. It may not be so bad to report but do we really need to know that a fence post went into the drivers side of the car killing this poor woman ? I find it very disturbing and would not want this type of information released during a very painful time if it were my family. too much information.
