Carolyn Mallo, Trina Mallo, and Alexander Mallo are all being held in the South Central Regional Jail.

CHARLESTON -- Three members of a Charleston family are indicted for child neglect.

Carolyn, Trina and Alexander Mallo, who also goes by the name Alexander Doran, were handed formal indictments Monday by a Kanawha County Grand Jury.

In June the three family members were arrested after police found them living in what authorities called deplorable conditions.

The family also housed a 14-year-old boy who is accused of killing Phyllis Phares, 82, a neighbor who lived on Frame Street in Charleston.

A fourth member of the family, Ferris Eugene Mallo, also remains in jail.

He is accused of sexual assault.
