WELLSBURG --  Brooke County Health Department Director Karen McClain confirmed Wednesday that a resident died from complications to influenza.

She said it doesn't appear that there will be any testing to determine if it was season flu or swine flu, also referred to as H1N1.

Officials have not reported the gender of the victim. They did note that the victim had an underlying medical condition.

They would not say at what hospital the victim died.

The Centers for Disease Control say almost all of the influenza viruses right now have been H1N1.

The Brooke County Health Department Director Karen McClain says its important for people to know right now that each year deaths occur from the flu.

In fact the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that every year, about 36,000 people die from seasonal flu.

ok, so people die every year from the flu. they won't give any details about this particular case, they don't even know if it's H1N1, and the patient already had underlying health problems anyway, so of course they were likely to have serious complications!!!! so why even make this a story??? just to try to scare people? does the media really have nothing better to write about?

If the doctors and hospitals are not testing for swine flu, how in the world can the CDC say that all the cases right now are the swine flu? To me, it don't make sense.
