Bankers recommend communication when things go wrong.

By Dee DeLancey

BARBOURSVILLE --  The American dream of home ownership is getting harder and harder to achieve for thousands of West Virginians.

Although mortgage experts say foreclosure is sometimes unavoidable, there are several ways to avoid the financial problems of owning a home.

Bankers tell us to make sure you have a cushion in case something goes wrong.

You should try and have one and a half times your payment in reserve and if something bad happens, talk to your lender.

Anyone with questions about how to get help can call Danny Lewis at First State Bank. That telephone number is 304-736-5271.
