Army Specialist Julian Berisford Laid to Rest

MOUNDSVILLE -- A funeral was held Monday for Army Specialist Julian Berisford, 25, of Benwood. Family, friends and military personnel paid their final respects at Grisell Funeral Home in Moundsville at 11 a.m. Monday.

Berisford was killed while serving his country in Afghanistan.

Specialist Berisford was presented the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and the Purple Heart.

Flags across West Virginia were flying at half staff.

to the family of specialist Berisford, thanks to this soldier our world was a safer place to live, his lose is so sad, our thoughts & prayers are with you today & for a long time. a Fisher Lane neighbor.

So so sad. My heart goes out to the family. We should all thank these men and women who bravely put their lives on the line for us and the country they love. Freedom isn't Free.

My heart felt sympathy's go out to the loved ones of this fallen soldier. His life was taken away much too soon but he will never be forgotten. ALL Americans should be thankful for the brave men and women that fight for our freedom. My prayer's are with the family of Julian Berisford.
