MARTINS FERRY, Ohio  -- A Sex and the City Star, her Broadway husband, the surrogate mother who was carrying their twins, and two local police chiefs accused of burglarizing and then trying to sell items and information they allegedly took to a paparazzi—all of these will come together on Monday in a Belmont County Courtroom.

Suspended Martins Ferry Police Chief Barry Carpenter is charged with two counts of burglary, one count of receiving stolen property, theft in office, tampering with evidence and unauthorized use of property or services.

Carpenter, Bridgeport Police Chief Chad Dojack and Bridgeport mayor’s son Bruce Callarik were allegedly involved in the plot to burglarize the home belonging to Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker's surrogate Michelle Ross, 26, of Martins Ferry.

Suspended Martins Ferry Police Chief Barry Carpenter told the media in June, “he was innocent of any crimes,” concerning an alleged celebrity scandal.

A jury, which will be selected on Monday in Belmont County Common Pleas Court, will now decide whether or not Carpenter committed any crimes.

Harrison County Prosecutor T. Shawn Hervey will handle the case. He was appointed because Belmont County Prosecutor Chris Berhalter cited a conflict of interest.

Carpenter, 32, was arrested along with Dojack and Callarik in July.

Carpenter has pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him, but faces more than 20 years in prison if convicted.

Dojack’s trial is set for Jan. 12. Bruce Callarik was charged with receiving stolen property, but that charge has since been dropped.

Special Prosecutor Shawn Hervey said Bruce Callarik will testify in the other men's trials. Michelle Ross is currently living in Florida, but sources said she will also testify.

Parker and Broderick are not expected to testify, but sources said a former editor for the National Enquirer has been subpoenaed.

I meant maybe the jury will see this and take it easy on you and for the benefit of doubt give you probation. They might believe that you are not guilty but with 3 against you it looks a little bad

Sorry I see a family teaming up against one man. Good luck Barry I believe that you are going to need it. Three against one are bad odds. Maybe the jury will see this and take it easy on you and for the benefit of give you probation. doubt
