PRINCETON -- The Mercer County Health Department is making sure that students get immunized against the H1N1 virus.
An H1N1 Clinic was held at all four high schools in Mercer County on Thursday morning, Nov. 12.
More than 100 teens at PikeView received the vaccine. That's about 25 percent of the student body. Six staff members were also immunized.
School Nurse, Amanda Meadows, says the turn out was fantastic.
"It's just great to be able to go ahead and get those kids vaccinated so that they will have an immunity to it and hopefully that will take away from our absenteeism," said Meadows.
Meadows also said that last month, 25 percent of the students were out sick.
The clinics also took place at Princeton, Bluefield and Montcalm high schools.
