MORGANTOWN -- Some 4-H'ers in Monongalia County are ready to lead their community clubs.

Officer training school was held Sunday afternoon at University High School.

Workshops were held for presidents, vice presidents, secretaries, treasurers, reporters, health officers, song leaders and also new for this year, parents.

Monongalia County 4-H has nine clubs, about 100 volunteers, and 450 members.

Officials say they are preparing the leaders to go back to their clubs.

Clubs are really youth based," said Becca Fint-Clark,"We want all of our club members to come in and be able to lead the meetings and take on leadership in the meetings themselves.

"Its really important for them to come to something like this and get trained by local community members who have certain expertise," said Fint-Clark.

The 4-H annual achievement program was held following the workshops.
