Gov. Joe Manchin announced the winners of this year's West Virginia Make It Shine, Clean Community Award.

The winners are the communities of Ranson, Bluefield, Dunbar, Fayetteville and the Village of Beech Bottom.

The annual awards are presented to cities and towns across the state for their efforts to clean up their respective communities.

Each town is judged in several areas including cleanup, recycling, youth participation and beautification.
