BECKLEY -- The West Virginia State High School Soccer Tournament wrapped up on Saturday, and the winner was the city.
Hundreds of parents, and soccer enthusiasts alike, packed the stands at the YMCA Youth Sports Complex on Friday and Saturday. While the action appeared to be inside the stadiums, it was also around the area businesses.
“It’s a big impact for the community, I mean you have your restaurants, hotels, and shopping centers,” said Jason Reger, the YMCA Senior Program Director.
Reger adds that the proceeds they raise from concession stands will go back into the YMCA Youth Sports Complex, and other area programs.
