NORTHFORK -- Members of the Southern Regional Drug Taskforce, along with McDowell County Sheriff's Deputies and State Troopers spent Thursday evening searching two homes in the Northfork area.

Deputies said they arrested Chadney Stanback, 23, of Northfork after they discovered a large quantity of crack cocaine, marijuana, and cash in the home. He is charged with two counts of possesion of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver. He is being held in the McDowell County jail on $50,000 bond.

A few hours later, law enforcement officials searched another home in the Worth Hollow area. They arrested Stephen Hairston, 62, after they found a large quantity of crack cocaine in that home as well. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and is also being held in the McDowell County Jail.

While searching Hairston's home, deputies said they located a man wanted by police in Michigan. Marcus Dixon, 32, of Detroit was wanted for violating his parole. Deputies say he was out on parole after being convicted of assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held in McDowell County pending extradition back to Michigan.
