The purpose of the rally was to remind voters of the importance of the congressional midterm election in 2010.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio -- We the People - Ohio Valley sponsored a rally that attracted more than 1,000 people to the steps of the Belmont County Courthouse.

The purpose of the voter rally was to remind voters of the importance of the Congressional midterm elections in 2010 and to refocus on some of the important issues that face us today.

The rally featured patriotic music and motivational speeches.

People from Ohio and West Virginia attended.

''Health care legislation, the national budget, the national debt, cap-and-trade and the upcoming climate change conference in Denmark in December are among the many issues that affect all of us, '' said Cherie Mezynski, spokeswoman for We the People - Ohio Valley.

Sure, teabaggers, having someone ("Coach" Dave Daubenmire) who BURNS A KORAN and displays graphic pictures of aborted fetuses to young school students is the best way to win elections. Extremism will get you nowhere except permanent minority status.

wethepeeps: I partially agree with you - the globalists are the puppeteers behind BOTH political parties right now; Obama had the perfect predecessor in Bush; GW Bush set it all up so the American people would think the enemies were outside the country, so he could get us to all agree to the Patriot Act and warrantless wiretapping (which Obama promised during the campaign that he would REPEAL) - Yep, but I signed on to it too - I was "asleep" politically during the last 20+ years, just like most of my fellow Americans. Well, I've woken up just like many people have and we are now starting to see that unless our leaders follow the CONSTITUTION and adhere to it, we will lose this country to the globalists that are chomping at the bit for Congress to pass the Cap/Trade bill so they can take our sovereignty away forever. Don't let this happen - wake up and wake up soon.

Great rally! It felt good to see all of the Ohio Valley residents brave the cold weather to show their love of country and disapproval of our political leaders. I hope Washington is listening because the citizens of America have had it with irresponsible tax-and-spend politicians.

We need to get away from the party-loyal element and vote out any politician that doesn't follow the will of the people!
