WESTON -- An international oil and gas company has opened an office in Lewis County.

Houston-based Boots & Coots is located in Weston and completes gas wells after they have been drilled.

Company officials said they moved to the area because of all the Marcellus shale projects.

The company employs about 20 people and could hire and train more local workers in the future, officials said.

They also are looking to expand in other ways, said Rich Tawney, of Boots & Coots.

"We have different lines of business within this company and we only have one line in here at this time. But we're hoping to bring upon more business lines," he said.

The company wants to expand into well control, pressure control, well testing and rig and well head audits, Tawney said.
