WHEELERSBURG, Ohio -- An Ohio man was killed in car crash Monday evening.

Ohio State Highway Patrol officers said the accident was reported at 7 p.m. on Sheldon Cartro Road in Wheelersburg.

Scott E. Copley, 33, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, was traveling at a high rate of speed in a 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass.

Officials said the vehicle failed to negotiate a turn in the roadway and went off the left side of the road. The vehicle struck a culvert and went airborne and landed into a ditch, which caused the vehicle to overturn.

Copley was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene.
