WHEELING -- Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the House of the United States Representatives, will address the next meeting of the West Liberty University Economics Club at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, 2009.
Due to overwhelming response, the event will be moved to the Capitol Theater in downtown Wheeling. With the move to the larger venue reservations are no longer required. The event is open to the public and admission is free with registration upon arrival.
Gingrich served as the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999. Prior to becoming Speaker, Gingrich served as Minority Whip from 1989 to 1995 where he represented Georgia’s 6th District in Congress since 1979.
Gingrich is Chairman of the Gingrich Group, a communications and consulting firm with offices in Atlanta and Washington, D.C.
It is recommended that attendees arrive no later than 2:45 p.m., as the doors will close shortly before the event begins.
Gingrich’s appearance is being sponsored by the Government Policy Research Center at West Liberty University through grants provided by the Public Policy Foundation of West Virginia and by BB&T.
