DILLES BOTTOM, OHIO -- A Beallsville man is behind bars after authorities said he led them on a pursuit in a car and then on foot.

The Ohio Highway Patrol said 56-year-old Gordon Irwin was traveling on Horse Mill Hill Road just off of State Route 7 in Dilles Bottom when he led a cruiser on a short pursuit before the car went over an embankment.

Reports said that Irwin then fled on foot, but was apprehended a short time later.

He was treated at Marietta Hospital before being taken to the Belmont County Jail.

Charges are now pending.
