MORGANTOWN -- The Marion County Fringe Little League Association is supporting the Child Life Program at West Virginia University Children's Hospital for the 3rd straight year.
Sunday the Fringe Little League presented Children's Hospital with a check for $6,500.
The money was raised at the annual Coaches Softball Tournament in August.
The donation will be used for fun items that will make children smile while they are undergoing stressful hospital stays.
Last year an air hockey table was purchased with the donation.
"Our goal is, we'd love to have kids playing ball with us but understand there's kids that get sick and kids that need care in the hospital," says Larry Kincell.
"We want to help them have as peaceful stay as they can and let them know there are adults and children in the community that care and love those kids."
The league has raised nearly $18,000 for Children's Hospital in all.
The Fringe League includes teams from Mannington, Farmington, South Marion, Fairview, Barrackville, Rivesville, Monongah, Clay-Battelle and East Marion.
