The sadness that is filling the air of the Ohio Valley as we learn of the passing of John Tagg could be considered a haz-mat situation that would require his vast knowledge. As a volunteer with the Belmont County EMA I was honored to work with John quite often. He was a man that loved his job and the people he served. I will miss John as a resource like no other when it comes to haz-mat but, more importantly I will miss a valued friend. When you met John Tagg you met a friend. My heart goes out to John's family, Ohio County EMA and the residents of Ohio County.

I worked with John many times during my employment with the American Red Cross in Wheeling. After I retired I always looked forward to stopping in to see him just to say hello. Of course, there were always old stories to tell. I don't know John's family, but they can surely be proud of his service to communities and, in particular, the people of Ohio County. He cared about getting the best service to anyone that called him for assistance. My thoughts go out to his family at this time.

I help Lutheran congregations identify their ministry in times of disaster. John was always there when I needed him for training. He would be the first to show up for an evening meeting and never complained when he had to give up a Saturday for a training class. I loved working with him. God Bless you John. I will miss you! My prayers are with John's family.
