Harrison County Man Facing Child Porn Charges
Posted Monday, September 14, 2009 ; 04:15 PM | View Comments | Post Comment

Joe Louzy is charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.

LOST CREEK -- Harrison County sheriff's deputies have arrested a Lost Creek man on child pornography charges.

They charged Joe Louzy, 44, with possession and distribution of child pornography.

Deputies say Louzy emailed a file last September that America Online reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as child porn.

In November, deputies seized Louzy's computer from his Hampton Meadows subdivision home and sent it to the State Police Digital Forensics Unit

Troopers found 312 inappropriate images on its hard drive.

Louzy admitted to deputies that he had sent the emails, according to the criminal complaint.

Deldemcclung,

If you bothered to read the article it states that Louzy has confessed to sending the e-mail so your whole "innocent until proven guilty" thing has already been satisfied.

Secondly if you think that anything you do on the internet is private you are living in a fantasy world. In this case AOL, a private company, owns Louzy's access to e-mail and has a clear "terms of use" document that Louzy violated. That terms of use also states that AOL has a right to monitor what you do while connected to the internet by their network. The reason for this is that in the past ISPs have been held liable for crimes commited by their subscribers. This is nothing new.

Get your facts straight before you go off on a tirade.

Deldemcclung,

First off, if your opinions of this great country are so negative why are you here? Why don't you move to a country like China that not only monitors your internet usage but also regulates what is visible there.

Second off, According to the Terms of Use provided by AOL: "You may not submit or transmit through AOL.COM any material, or otherwise engage in any conduct that: (2) is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, deceptive, fraudulent, invasive of another's privacy, tortious, or contains explicit or graphic descriptions, or accounts of, sexual acts,". AOL is a private company providing a service. Therefore, they have every right to monitor its usage to protect the public.

And finally, I agree in innocent until proven guilty. However, it appears you missed the part of the article that states: "Louzy admitted to deputies that he had sent the emails, according to the criminal complaint." This CRIMINAL deserves to be in jail. Not sitting at home watching TV.

Delde: you're rambling again. Why do you always side with, and advocate the rights of, the perpetrators of these acts? This person already admitted guilt.

It is scary that this guy has been living the neighborhood for at least a year or more and none of us have been informed of this. I live in this neighborhood and there are always kids playing out in the street in front of my house I would hate to think that any of them are at risk of being a victim of this guy. Why haven't we been warned about this, at the very least we should have been told that someone was being investigated even if that person couldn't be identified.

I do not condone the abuse of children, or anyone else for that matter, but... The reactions of some people on here appears to be more "sick" than the suspect is accused of being. Yes, MORE sick. The fact that these people don't realize just how "sick" their "opinions" appear to be is quite revealing as far as their maturity and education is concerned. "Not very" would be my conclusion. What is disappointing to me is that they just don't get it. And most likely never will. An enlightened society this is NOT. The fact that many will miss-understand my words and my intentions here is to be expected. Many people will refuse to consider the facts, and simple react emotionally to anyone who attempts to enlighten them. They will completely miss the point. Again, I do not condone child abuse. Whether or not this man is guilty of committing a crime is not for me to say...at this point...and maybe never, since I will not likely sit on his jury. I strongly hold to the premise that a man is innocent until "proven" guilty. Guilty of a valid "crime". We have NO evidence and therefore can not make a valid judgement in this case. We have Freedom of Speech (Though it is disappearing daily in this country.) and we also have the right to our emotions. That doesn't mean that we have control over those emotions. We allow them to be manipulated on a regular basis. I say "we" because I too am manipulated whether I am aware of it or a willing subject of that manipulation or not. Our emotions get in the way of our good sense, and often times invalidate our claim to being rational and intelligent creatures.

One disturbing thing here is that no one raised the question of AOL reading our emails. Having access to our PRIVATE correspondence. Did no one but me catch that little detail? Apparently not. This FACT is more disturbing to me than whatever "crime" the suspect is "allegedly" guilty of. His guilt or innocence is not in my hands...not in your hands either...unless you are picked to be on his jury. I will not elaborate on the corrupt judicial system in this country here, except to say that it is a well known fact that the courts are not practicing "law" these days. The fact that this man was "caught" due to an illegal and un-Constitutional act by AOL should disturb us all. The fact that you, many of you, if not most, fail to see the "crime" and "inappropriateness" of AOL snooping in our private emails, quite contrary to American principles, not to mention our laws, is just plan appalling. Dangerous is a better word. When a whole society accepts the crimes of its government and criminal violations of the Rights of the People, and does nothing, not even recognize those crimes and the criminals that perpetrate those crimes, that society is lost. And so are the freedoms that we all believe we still have. We are all being raped. And the majority of the victims don't even realize it. They refuse to acknowledge it when the evidence is right there in front of their faces. They prefer to allow themselves to be manipulated and abused. I not only find this to be pathetic...I find it outrageous. Security without Freedom is not security at all. It is slavery. Sorry to say, we are all at risk. We are all victims now. The next step in the process is......we are all criminals and enemies of the State.

It's not the courts that can put these type of scum away. It's the people who are in office in Charleston WV and Washington D.C., who keeps getting voted in to do the job, but DON'T.

What concerns me is the fact that as a neighbor we are just now finding out about this. It has been almost a year and the neighboorhood was not informed. Now he's out on bond and able to be home in a neighborhood full of children. He admitted to the material, put him in jail where he belongs !!
