KINGWOOD -- The Preston County Sheriff's Department has made an arrest in a recent bank robbery, after working with state and local police, as well as the F.B.I.

Eric Hudson, 20, turned himself into deputies, Wednesday night. Police say he is responsible robbing the B-B&T bank in Reedsville at gunpoint on August 21st, and the sheriff said today that the case is far from closed.

"We also have the bank robbery in the Masontown area, and we're investigating it as if both of those robberies are connected," says Preston County Sheriff Dallas Wolfe. "We're continuing our investigation. By no means is it over."

Hudson may have also had something to do with another bank hold up at the WesBanco in Masontown in March.

Police say Hudson was living in Reedsville for a week before the robbery there, but before that he lived in the Morgantown area. Police there say he is also a suspect in an attempted armed robbery at the Allegheny Development Group in Riddle Court.

"The suspect was wearing the exact same clothing that he used in Masontown," says Tpr. 1st Class J. G. Baker of the West Virginia State Police's Morgantown detachment.

Hudson is charged with felony armed robbery and is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on $200,000 bond.

I love how everyone blames the robbery on hard times. I could believe that if this were the only robbery. It sounds like he might have committed a few crimes. I am going through hard times right now.......I am not thinking about robbing a bank though. I got an idea, I will go and try to find a new job.

It is a good thing this ended the way it did. Innocent people could have been harmed or killed. If anyone knew he was going to do this they should have stopped him any way they could even if it meant calling the police.

I wish I would have known he was in such a frame of mind to do something crazy like that! I am glad he turned his self in so nothing worse would happen to him. You never know with the cops what they will do. I will pray for him and help in any way I can. Unfortunately, you did the crime now you have to do the time and pay the consequences. All my love to you Ez.

ThomasJ - Get a life. I'm not part of the "in" crowd that you speak. I don't live there anymore and haven't for about 12 years now, but you're showing a bit of the "they're out to get me" paranoia. If it's THAT BAD - LEAVE. It's just that simple.

Kudos to the PCSD, State Police and the FBI. Now, let's see the other robbers go down the same way....

Let's see now... move to town and rob a bank 1/2 mile from your new home.... Great plan!!! Police were digging in his trashcan for evidence 2 hours after the robbery. They also got security cam video from other local businesses identifying his vehicle. Good job by law enforcement IMO.

It’s a good think he turned himself in, those idiots at the PCSD would have never figured it out. They are to busy harassing the citizens of Preston County, arresting women who defend themselves, late night girl chases, & taking their drunk buddies home. Preston County citizens should run each & every one of them out of the county. And that includes the “new” Sherriff! Everybody thought things would be different by electing him, boy were they wrong, same old crap. If you know them you have it made, if you don’t, nothing is done, then when you complain about it YOU get arrested! Those so called Public Servants could not find a bat in the bell tower, let alone a bank robber. Way to go Eric, by turning yourself in, you saved the tax payers a lot of money, God only knows how long the Preston County Clown Department would have milked this one.

i believe the police would have found him faster if the banks would have outside cameras so they could have seen where he came from and where went.

Whitney, would you please put that in english please? Anyways, the word around preston co. is that he was cought by the police, and givin the chance to turn him self in, or be arrested. Guess he took the smart way out, and chose the correct way of doing things for once.

I wonder if he turned himself in because he felt guilty or because the police were on to him?
