Middlebourne -- Firefighters from two counties met Saturday in Middlebourne to train in school bus rescue techniques.

The class teaches rescue techniques to be used in the event of a school bus accident where children would be injured or trapped on the bus.

The course was taught by Resa 6 and WVU Instructor Lonny Riggs.

Firefighters from the Middlebourne, Alma, Paden City and Shirley Volunteer Fire Departments took part.

Middlebourne Volunteer Fire Department Secretary Matt Glover said he would like to thank Tyler County Superintendent of Schools Jeff Hoover, Transportation Director Troy Smith and the Tyler County Board of Education for donating a bus for the training exercise.
