CLARKSBURG -- Fire damaged a house in Clarksburg Wednesday evening.
It happened just after 8:00 on Fowler Avenue in the Eastview area.
Heavy smoke was visible from downtown Clarksburg as firefighters from Anmoore, Nutter Fort, and Stonewood responded.
Firefighters say no utilities were hooked up and a generator inside wasn't turned on.
They've called in the fire marshal to investigate the cause the fire.
No one was home at the time, but two family pets were killed.
