Moundsville  -- Search and rescue teams they have discovered the body of 23-year old Elijah Anderson of Moundsville

Sergeant Smith said the man was swimming with friends in a popular area behind the Busy Beaver in Moundsville. We're told his body was discovered near the area where he was swimming. Cadaver dogs located the body.

Crews from Moundsville, McMechen, Benwood, Powhaton, and Shadyside called off the search last night until this morning because of storms and a swift current in the river.

Authorities say alcohol may have been involved. 7 News has a crew in Moundsville with more coming up tonight at 5, & 6.

Wicked z If you haven't done anything wrong in your life you must not be a very strong person. Everyone i know has overcome hard times and stood by each others side and rode out the bad times. Being with elijah as much as i was and know the things we faced in everyday life makes me proud that i was as close to him as i was. Alot of other people couldn't soulder 1/4 of what he did. I will say how we dealt with it wasn't the best but i know every time we were in jail and everynight we talked up on the hill till the sun came up we learned alot about each toher and how everyone goes through hard times and thats how he saw everyone. he always told me to staighten up and it would make him happy and thats what truely made him happy in life. He was such a loveing person and i don't even think you know anything about him besides what you read. But know this anyone who had a chance to sit with him and talk to him for 5 minitues would never for get who he was. All i know is that we had each others back no matter what and we proved it thats alot more than a majority of people can say in life. I just hope when that time comes for you when your back is against the wall you have someone like elijah in your life because if don't you'll be wishing you did and only then will you truely understand why not knowing Elijah Anderson is your lose.... i'm not mad about your opinion i'm just being real and thats all he ever was

Wicked Z, Maybe Elijah was in jail and caused destruction, BUT he is still someone's son, brother, grandson and friend. He did not deserve to die the way he did. He is going to be missed by many and is loved by many. I might not have ever met Elijah in person and I am so sorry I didn't. Everything I have heard about him has shown me what a giving, loving and caring young man he was. Someone who made mistakes and had some troubles in his young life. No matter what Elijah did, does not erase the love he showed his mother and family. No matter what he did, Elijah was loved deeply by his entire family. I am so glad that you would never wish death on someone. Now why don't you try living the rule, "if you have nothing nice to say, do not say anything." Respect those who are hurting and mourning Elijah's death.

To Wicked Z

I knew Elijah better than anyone in this world. I held him, fed him, clothed him and loved him all the days of his life. Yes, what goes around comes around. Remember that. My son was in much trouble, in his short life. He suffered more than you or anyone else will ever know. My grief is such that I can hardly breathe. His arms will always be around me and mine around him.

Ok so since everyone is mourning over his death, lets not forget how manytimes he has been in jail and all the public destruction he has caused. I would never wish death upon anyone....but what doesn't catch up with you today, will get you tomorrow.

I would just like to state a very important point that I think the media and the police especially ignored. Elijia Anderson died while the people he was with threw rocks at him while he was struggling to keep his head above water. They contributed to his death but sadly I and many others feel that this important detail will be overlooked. Elijia did not deserve what happened. He was a kind hearted person who would have done anything for anyone. So now we will do something for him; and bring these so called friends to justice. We will miss him more than we ever thought we could.

I've know Elijah since we were in preschool together. He used to tell me one day we were going to get married. My heart goes out to his family and I am so sad to hear of this tragedy. He will be missed by a lot of people. This is a great example why you shouldn't drink and party and then go swimming. Especially not with dumb people who are going to throw rocks at you while you are in the water. I am ashamed of everyone who was with him that night, and I hope they all get what comes to them.

Elijah is like a brother to me, we before the last couple years i don't really remember not being with him. We enjoyed alot of good times and stuck together through the hard and crazy ones. We shared alot of happyness and had the same hardships. If i didn't have to be in the house i would have been with you. Diana, Noah, Trey, and Miranda your in my thoughts and prayers. Elijah i feel like a part of me went with you we have lived apart before but always found each other. I'm missing you i'll be thinking bout you. Relax and be easy i'll see you again someday. Until then you'll be in my heart and mind. try not to shake things up to bad up there... love ya man PETTIT
