Charleston -- A former West Virginia Mountaineer football star meets fans in Charleston.

For two hours Saturday afternoon, Owen Schmitt signed autographs for hundreds of fans at the Charleston Town Center. The event was sponsored by Collectibles, Etc.

Schmitt is on his way to the National Football League, but he says it's always great to be back in West Virginia.

"All these people that supported me all those years come back and support me. We're here for one common thing, Mountaineer Football and that's just how everyone connected and it's great to meet the fans," Schmitt said.

Schmitt was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks. Training camp starts in about 6 months.
