No suspects in custody

RIPLEY -- Ripley police on Friday were investigating two bomb threats.

Police said a caller told authorities there was a bomb in the BB&T bank and another at Ripley Elementary School.

The caller told police he wanted $50,000 to be placed in a car park behind the bank and that both bombs could be detonated by phone.

The call came in about 9 a.m.

Police searched both buildings but no explosives were found.

Authorities think the call could be linked to a recent drug bust in the county in which police seized an estimated about $52,000.

No injuries were reported in either incident.
