An investigation is under way after a West Virginia State Trooper committed suicide in Hampshire County.
Cpl. V.J. Gall, a 10-year veteran of the State Police, was found dead just after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Gall was stationed at the barracks in Romney.
Governor Joe Manchin issued a statement regarding the loss saying "my thoughts and prayers are with the family."
Gall is the second trooper to commit suicide in the past seven months. Trooper Marlo Gonzales shot and killed himself inside his cruiser in Putnam County back in July.
