A Gilmer County man is behind bars charged with first degree murder for shooting and killing another man.

State Police say 33-year-old Everett Campbell pulled the trigger in the deadly shooting.

The victim is 40-year-old Mark Medley from Moundsville. The shooting happened outside a home in Sand Fork Wednesday night.

Investigators say Campbell shot Medley twice with a 357. They say the shooting revolved around a custody dispute.

Campbell was arraigned Thursday morning. He has a bond hearing scheduled for next Wednesday.

Until then Campbell will remain in the Central Regional Jail in Flatwoods.
